IWSH Plumbing Champions: Skills Demonstrations for Social Responsibility
- Our Approach
- Skills Demonstration Events
Mobilizing the Plumbing Industry for Good
At major trade shows and global skills competitions, IWSH Plumbing Champions brings together young plumbers, mentors, and manufacturers to demonstrate how plumbing advances public health, sustainability, and economic opportunity.
What is IWSH Plumbing Champions?
IWSH Plumbing Champions is a collaboration among the International Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Foundation (IWSH®), the World Plumbing Council, and IAPMO.
Each event mobilizes industry partners and young tradespeople to build demonstration systems focused on public health protection and resource conservation. These plumbing systems are subsequently donated and installed in nearby community facilities.
These projects not only energize events but also deliver lasting benefits for the local communities, showcasing plumbing's vital role in health and resource conservation.

From Competition Show Floor to Community Benefit
At IWSH Plumbing Champions events, manufacturers provide the products, mentors guide apprentices, and talented young students and professionals apply their skills to create real WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) solutions. What begins as a live demonstration at a trade fair or a skills competition becomes a lasting infrastructure for the host community.
Every installation reflects IWSH’s proven model: Skilled plumbers + quality products + community education = scalable WASH impact
These events elevate skills, inspire the next generation, and leave measurable benefits long after the competition ends.
